The pledging process is about six (6) weeks long.
During this time, Seidman College of Business students will work with their pledge class to complete all requirements of the pledging process, in order to be invited to initiate into Delta Sigma Pi.
The pledging process is outlined by the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi and is then specialized to fit each individual chapter.
Pledges will have the opportunity to campaign for and hold positions within their pledge class, and plan events that mirror each of our four pillars:
The goal of pledge education is to formally present Fraternity history and information to our potential members and to begin the integration into the chapter on a provisional basis in order to make the best possible brothers.
Pledges will learn the business and operational requirements of the Fraternity through the participation in various chapter events and activities. They will become familiar with the opportunities and obligations available and expected through membership, including the professional and personal standards of Delta Sigma Pi.
Pledges will attend 5 pledge meetings, learn about the fraternity through online modules and quizzes and attend events with brothers.
Pledge Meetings will be a time to reinforce learning from the modules and discuss what it means to be a brother of Delta Sigma Pi, as well as hone professional knowledge. The Vice President of Pledge Education coordinates these meetings.
Pledges use this time to get a preview of membership. Likewise, the Chapter uses the time to ensure new members represent the Fraternity well and uphold its professional objectives. Success will be determined based on conduct, quizzes, and attendance. Upon successful completion, pledges will be initiated into full and equal brotherhood.
"Big Brothers" (male and female) are paired with each pledge to assist the students in the successful completion of the pledging process.
During the pledging process, students are able to get a sense for how the Lambda Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi can benefit them personally, professionally, and socially.
Since the chapter was formed in 1986, over 600 Seidman College of Business Students have successfully completed the pledging process and are now official members of the international fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi.
